Arkus Zei will begin the level in this room after entering from 'From Peasant to Gentry' in Cargo Bay I. He must jump down onto a platform and across the bottomless pit to another one, which connects to the exit on the right.

Similar to 'The Chasm' in Cargo Bay I, a Lightning RoofCannon off the top of the screen will be following Arkus and barraging him with attacks if on Hard difficulty. However, he can once again kill it by jumping up from the high platform with the Nnenbot. In either case, Arkus must jump up to said platform. Then, he must jump down to another platform containing a Skitterbot. He must then jump across to a solid platform, watching out for another Nnenbot. Next, he must climb up a ladder to a higher platform with a Pod House. It requires the Purple Keycard to enter, however. A Photon Miniturret, a stronger version of the normal one, will also be on the platform if not on Easy difficulty. From the platform, Arkus can jump left across more platforms to reach a chest. He will drop down onto the lower platform after opening it, so he must return to the upper platform containing the Pod House. He must then make a long jump across the pit to a lower platform. If not on Easy difficulty, he should raise his shield to prevent a Nnenbot's attack from knocking him into the pit. He must then climb up a ladder to reach the exit on the right.

The First Gate lv1_3c
If not on Easy difficulty, Arkus should take caution as he enters this room as a Hyperbeamer will be directly in front of him. Immediately after that, he has the opportunity to use a Checkpoint. Arkus should first climb up the ladder right near him. After reaching the top, he must take a moving platform to the top of the room. He should turn left and raise his shield while doing so, however, because he will be bombarded with attacks from Photon Miniturrets (2 in Easy, 4 otherwise). He must then jump up some platforms and enter the Pod House after reaching the top. On Hard difficulty, a Nnenbot and a Skitterbot will be on the platforms near the top. After exiting the house, he should return to the bottom of the room. He must then jump across a small platform in the range of a Hyperbeamer and onto a ladder. Higher up, he must jump onto a longer ladder and climb to the top of the room. However, he will again be attacked by the Photon Miniturrets when doing this. The highest platform with a Miniturret also contains a chest. The exit to the next room, normally blocked by the Blue Gate, is on the upper right, and leads to 'Moment's Reprieve (3e)'.

This very tall room serves as the 'hub' of the Inner Quarters. Arkus can use the central shaft as an elevator to reach any one of the nine exits of this room; only four including the one he just came in are currently open. The one directly across (3g) ultimately leads to the exit. Arkus can only enter the first room here, but it's still worth it to collect the treasure. The next open door he encounters while ascending is the Arsenal. This is an optional region, with lots of equipment that is unlocked as Arkus progresses through the level. The upper open door, together with the doors blocked by Purple, Green and Red Gates, comprise the majority of the level; Arkus must enter each one and find the switch to unlock the next one. The purple keycard door is a bonus area that Arkus can return to later in the game. The gold keycard door can never be unlocked.

Low Gravity

After entering this room from the Gravity Shaft, Arkus must jump up to the main platform in this room. He will also encounter a Heavy Nnenbot, which will not stop firing after having Arkus in its sights. To defeat this enemy, Arkus should raise his shield and walk through the robot. It will not turn around, so he should destroy it from behind. After that, Arkus should drop down to a corridor in the bottom of the room. At the end is a chest, but he will have to safely navigate across some Hyperbeamers first. In Easy difficulty, only one Hyperbeamer will be present; two will appear on Medium difficulty, and three on hard. If Arkus returns up and continues right, he will find the path blocked by a Purple Gate, and a door needing a Green Keycard to open. Arkus must return to the Gravity Shaft first.

After entering this room, Arkus must go left and climb up a ladder above a bottomless pit. He should be prepared to fight a Heavy Nnenbot after reaching the top. After doing so, he must jump across a bed of spikes and onto a platform with a Checkpoint. If not on Easy difficulty, he should keep his shield raised, as a Photon Miniturret will be waiting for him. On Hard difficulty, a Clockwise Roturret will be just below here. Arkus should also enter the Pod House at this part of the map. After clearing the house, he should keep his shield raised as he jumps to the left platform, as a Heavy Nnenbot will be ready to attack (if not on Easy difficulty). The lower passage, reachable via the ladder, is currently blocked by a Green Gate. Continuing left, Arkus will encounter an Anticlockwise Roturret in the solid platform. Due to its location, he must use his blaster to destroy it. Arkus can go through the left exit to Arsenal Block 2 (3i), though it leads to inaccessible treasures at the moment.

Arkus will be attacked by a Nnengral on the lower platform immediately after entering this room. He should fight it while remaining on the top platform to avoid taking damage. Two pod house doors are here; the treasures inside are blocked by Green (right) and Purple (left) Gates. If Arkus continues right, he must hop across two Green Ghost Platforms, which appear and disappear periodically. On Hard difficulty, there's also a Clockwise Roturret shooting at Arkus here. If on Easy difficulty, the Ghost Platforms are replaced by a moving platform. Another Pod House, inside blocked by Red Gate, is on the left side of this long room.

A completely separate lower part of this room connects the passage blocked by a Green Gate in Arsenal Block 1 to lv1_3x. This consists of a narrow passage with 2 Hyperbeamers (3 on Hard) and a chest.

This room is meant to be entered from the left exit (as a normally active Purple Gate will block access), though Arkus can enter this room early from the Floor 2 Subtunnels to obtain the GreenShield earlier. From the Purple Switch Room (3m), Arkus will encounter a Photon RoofCannon on the ceiling, if not on Easy difficulty. On Hard difficulty, an Anticlockwise Roturret will be beneath the floor and a Photon Miniturret will be aimed at him. He must then drop down on a moving platform (which comes closer to where he's standing on lower difficulties), which will transport him across a bed of spikes. Next, he must jump across some small platforms to reach a Pod House. Two Roturrets, an Anticlockwise one on the left, and a Clockwise one on the right, will be stationed there, if not on Easy difficulty. If he did not do so earlier, he should enter the house and retrieve an item before proceeding. Next, Arkus must drop down to a solid platform with a Heavy Nnenbot (a regular Nnenbot on Easy) before going down a ladder which will return him back to the Floor 2 Subtunnels, where he should return to the Gravity Shaft.

After descending the ladder from 'Room of blandness', Arkus will encounter a Clockwise Roturret on the wall to his left. On Hard difficulty, there will be a Homing Roturret on the wall to his right. Arkus must jump down onto the moving platform above the spike bed. If not on Easy difficulty, an Anticlockwise Roturret will be on the lower right corner. Arkus can jump up to a ladder from the platform, which will allow him to access a chest. The moving platform should be under him when he opens it, or he will fall into the spikes. Arkus must take the moving platform to reach another one, moving vertically. He must carefully jump to the next platform without hitting his head on the spiked ceiling. Next, he must jump left across two tiny platforms, one of which contains a Checkpoint. If on Hard, a Photon Miniturret and a Homing Roturret will be firing at him here. He must then jump down to a larger platform in the bottom of the room. A Skitterbot will have populated it on Medium difficulty or higher. Arkus must now jump across some more tiny platforms continue with the room, one of which contains a Photon Miniturret on any difficulty. He will soon reach the exit on the left.

In Hard difficulty, a Heavy Nnenbot will be right in front of Arkus as he enters this room. He must then jump down and walk across Blue Ghost Platforms, which appear and disappear in a pattern. While doing so, a Homing Roturret will be firing at him if not on Easy difficulty, so he should keep his shield raised. After the series of Ghost Platforms, Arkus must jump up on some regular platforms and across a wide gap to reach the solid platform on the left side of the room. A Heavy Nnenbot will be patrolling it on any difficulty. He must then climb up a ladder on his left to reach the exit.

Arkus must jump up a long corridor above a spike bed using Blue Ghost Platforms. On Easy difficulty, the Blue Ghost Platforms will be replaced by moving platforms. Except on Easy difficulty, an Anticlockwise Roturret will be in a platform at the top of the room. On Hard difficulty only, he will also have to deal with three Photon RoofCannons before reaching the exit on the top right. This door has a Blue Gate in front of it, so Arkus won't be able to return this way after flipping the Blue/Purple switch.

Arkus can enter this room from the passage in the Gravity Shaft previously blocked by a Purple Gate. He must use Blue Ghost Platforms go safely pass a bottomless pit, except on Easy difficulty, which has a moving platform. While doing so, he can jump to an upper passage. A Photon Roturret, which rotates faster than the normal Roturrets but fires at the same rate, will be in the ceiling if not on Easy difficulty, and on Easy difficulty, a Nnengral will be in the passage. Arkus must jump between two spike beds if not on Easy difficulty to reach a chest and drop back to the start. Another Photon Roturret will be on the top right corner in Hard difficulty. Returning to the Ghost Platforms, which are here replaced by solid platforms on Easy difficulty, Arkus will be greeted with a Heavy Nnenbot upon reaching the next solid platform in the centre of the room, though it will only be the regular version on Easy difficulty. An unreachable Photon Roturret will also be on the platform if not on Easy difficulty. There is also a chest on the platform. He must continue across the Blue Ghost Platforms (or regular platforms) to reach the solid platform at the end. One of them will attempt to trick Arkus by appearing too high, before a reachable platform in the bottom of the room appears. As another Photon Roturret awaits Arkus at the end of the room (if not on Easy difficulty), he should keep his shield raised and be prepared to block their attacks as he crosses the platforms. The exit is on the left side.

Upon entering this room, Arkus has the opportunity to use a Checkpoint. Arkus must jump across the bottomless pit and onto another platform with a regular Nnenbot patrolling. If on Hard difficulty, he will be vulnerable to a Photon RoofCannon's attacks before reaching the platform. Arkus must climb up a ladder and use more Blue Ghost Platforms on his left to continue on with the room. In Hard difficulty only, a Homing Roturret will be perched on the wall to the left of the ladder. If not on Easy difficulty, he should destroy a nearby Photon RoofCannon to make using the Ghost Platforms safer. After reaching the solid platform at the end, he will be confronted with another Nnenbot if not on Easy difficulty. On Hard difficulty only, a Photon Roturret will also be waiting for him. Arkus should enter the Pod House before proceeding, leading to Room 3u. After exploring the house, he should drop down the exit. Interestingly, dropping down the far left side of the bottomless pit area does not instantly kill Arkus, instead dropping him into an inescapable room filled with spikes in 3t.

After dropping down to the lowest platform, Arkus will encounter another Heavy Nnenbot. On Easy difficulty, there are no ghost platforms or spikes here, only a Heavy Nnenbot.

In this room, Arkus must press the switch to deactivate all Green Gates in the level. Continuing upward will bring him to the blocked passage in the Arsenal. He can collect three treasure chests here (Green Gate room, Purple Gate room, and the one in the lower passage) but he can't get back to the Gravity Shaft since the Blue Gates are still on. He'll need to return to 3w and climb down the ladder there.

Arkus must drop off the ladder onto a pair of Green Ghost Platforms and quickly head left across a spike bed to a solid platform with a RoofCannon raining on it. He can drop down from here onto a series of Red Ghost Platforms and head right over another spike bed (Easy difficulty has no spikes or ghost platforms here) and under a Homing RoofCannon to a second solid platform. From here, more Red Ghost Platforms (Easy difficulty has the slower Blue platforms instead) lead up over yet another spike bed (on Hard only; it's blocked on other difficulties) and under a Photon RoofCannon, to a platform with a chest. From here, it's an easy jump back to the ladder.

Arkus will climb onto a platform. A Heavy Nnenbot is on a platform just above, and can easily be killed from here, but the floor's solid; Arkus must head left over some Blue Ghost Platforms with a Photon RoofCannon firing at him (Easy difficulty has a moving platform and a Lightning RoofCannon instead). He can then double back to the right, past where the Heavy Nnenbot was, to where a Green Ghost Platform (a regular platform on Easy) gives access to a ladder up.

Artillery Defence lv1_3Ab
The Easy version of this room is significantly different than the Medium/Hard versions. On higher difficulties, Arkus must climb up a long ladder with his shield up to protect himself from a Clockwise and a Counterclockwise Roturret, four Photon Miniturrrets, and, on Hard only, a Photon Roturret and two Homing Roturrets. Arkus is then able to jump left onto a large platform. He can then climb up past an Anticlockwise Rotorsaw and any turrets not yet killed, to a higher platform. Here, a Nnengral waits for him, along with two Homing Roturrets if on Hard. A set of Red Ghost Platforms lead up to the door from here.

On Easy difficulty, Arkus must climb up a series of platforms over a bed of spikes and negotiate past an Anticlockwise Rotorsaw while under fire from a Homing Roturret. He can then climb up a series of Green Ghost Platforms to a chest. Returning to where he was before, a ladder under fire from two Photon Miniturrets leads to a platform with a Nnengral. A set of Red Ghost Platforms lead up to the door from here.

Here, Arkus fights the final boss of the Inner Quarters, the Nnengral Captain. After defeating him, he will give Arkus a long-awaited explanation of what exactly is happening on the ship, and charge him with a task... to rid the ship of the parasites!

Arkus just has to drop through the floor of this small room to return to the very beginning of the area, 3a. He should then make his way back to the Gravity Shaft, shutting off the Blue Gates along the way.

This room contains nothing but an exceptionally tall ladder, which you can climb down to return to the Sewage Treatment Facility and get the extra relic there.

A platform carries Arkus up to the relic chest. He must be careful to jump off of the chest in time, as it runs directly into spikes on the ceiling.

Room of Coloured Lights lv1_3Af
Upon entering this locked room off the Gravity Shaft, Arkus must proceed left by a Heavy Nnenbot to a point where he can drop down onto a platform in a room full of spikes. He should have his shield up here, for a second Heavy Nnenbot awaits below! Proceeding past here, he will arrive at the door to the relic room, where a Homing Roturret will be shooting at him from across a large pit of spikes. However, this room has a glitch whereby Arkus can climb out of the screen and walk straight to the exit. This only works in the one direction, however.
